Kid’s Place Aide

The Waynesboro Y is hiring a Kid’s Place Aide.

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age

Must obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire

Must be able to sit, stand, kneel for long periods of time

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities:

Interact and build relationships with children and their parents/guardians

Demonstrate a working knowledge of and be able to effectively communicate with parents/guardians necessary policies, procedures, and issues

Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child in care

Maintain cleanliness and safety of all equipment and play space in the Kid’s Place area

Change diapers, take groups of children to restroom

Be knowledgeable of food allergies and prevention of cross contamination

Effectively communicate with front desk staff and/or emergency personnel in the event of an emergency

Swim Instructors

Waynesboro Family YMCA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool! We are looking for candidates with open availability.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for candidates who can work a variety of shifts with a variety of ages. Using a variety of tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of students teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.

American Red Cross, Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor, or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
